Sweet Surprises at the Mansion
The Reddick Mansion Associate announces its 2010 membership drive. It has been several years since the Reddick Mansion Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving the mansion, has announced a membership drive. Serving as Ottawa’s public library for nearly 100 years, it is now open to the public for tours, offers rooms available for rent for special occasions and features events such as lectures and musical events throughout the year. The association is please to show the public the mansion’s most recent renovation, the parlors on the West side of the main floor (formerly the offices of the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry). The newly renovated space features hardwood floors, new chandeliers and a paint scheme that highlights the beautiful ceilings and plaster work that is typical throughout the Mansion. Formerly William Reddick’s office and library this space is a perfect place to host a meeting or small seminar.
“We hope to increase our individual, family and corporate members with this years drive,” says Diane Sanders, board member of the association. A membership reception, “Sweet Surprises at the Mansion,” held April 30, 2010 from 7-9pm will give the current and prospective members the opportunity to meet, and see the new changes in the mansion. An individual annual membership is only $20.00 and is tax deductible.
