Boater Safety Class

Boat safely this year and learn about Illinois state boating laws. This class is recommended for people who are new to boating, scouts, families that enjoy boating adventures, and boaters who want to brush up on their safe boating knowledge. Upon successful completion of the class and exam, participants will be issued an Illinois DNR Boat Safety Certification card.
This 8-hr class covers the following topics: instruction in equipment requirements, navigation rules, legal requirements, accident situations and how to handle them, weather challenges, trailering, and personal watercraft.
The class is open to students 11 and older. Students under age 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.
